what do the browns do at the end of season. with derek anderson having an awesome year (its been a long time) since this type of offense, and brady quinn (our future) sitting on the bench..what do you think will happen. i say they are gonna trade anderson at the end of year. but if that happens is brady quinn the real deal.? we havent seen him play (except pre-season)..will you be upset if derek is gone and brady's a flop.or say brady gets hurt..then what?they got some decision making to do in berea dont they...VEGAS MATT-good detail..trade or tender to me is the same cuz i would not let him go for less than that.i too do not mind brady sitting..his contract isnt that much and depends alot on incentives.

get a good draft pick for him, maybe work something out with San Francisco. then they can use Brady Quinn next year.

The Browns should trade Brady Quinn. He's probably going to be a bust, if for no other reason than the fact that most quarterbacks coming into the NFL turn out to be busts. Anderson is the real deal, it would be foolish to trade him.Remember the last great Notre Dame quarterback, Ron Paulus? What's he doing now (I think he's some kind of assistant coach at ND)?

Derek Anderson is the Future. He is doing great and is a sure thing why throw that away for Brady Quinn? Quinn is over rated and they should trade him and get a draft pick. Add to the secondary and maybe a youthful RB.

I say keep the proven guy in Derek, and trade Brady while he still has the value of a first round pick and a lot of potential. We may be able to trade Brady to a team like the Bears or Dolphins looking for a QB for a good defensive player.

at the end of the year the Browns are going to put a "tender" on Derek anderon meaning if anyteam signs him , they will have to give up a 1st and a 3rd round draft choice. this is highly unlikly but not impossible. If knowone signs him the browns will sign him for a 3-5 yr deal worth good money, the browns know there in a good situation having 2 good young quarterbacks!!! there not gunna just let anderson walk away especially after him probaly making the pro bowl(like 2 years ago when san diego let drew brees walk away).

First off, they cannot 'trade' Anderson. He is a restricted free agent at the end of the year. This means they can put a 'tender' on him, which is basically a one year offer, and any team that would like to sign him must give up draft picks (1st and 3rd round most likely) to be able to sign him. In interviews posted on clevelandbrowns.com and elsewhere, Savage has thrown out a couple of comments leaning a couple different ways. He has said he would "like to keep the depth at quarterback" which leads me to believe that he may not want to let him go, and has also said he "doesn't mind having a $2 million a year backup (Quinn)." But in another interview he also talked about not accepting two second rounds picks instead of a 1st and 3rd if they tendered DA. He didn't come out and say they would tender him, but I think if he wasn't at least considering it he would've shut down the interviewer completely on the topic. In the end, it comes down to how the front office feels Quinn can perform, and how much Anderson wants to stay in Cleveland with Quinn looking over his shoulder. We can speculate all we want about Quinn's abilities, but the coaches and management have had almost an entire year to watch Quinn practice with the Browns, so they know how good (or bad) he's going to be. If they feel he can run the offense (which they've said they do in recent weeks) DA will likely get tendered and signed away to another team for draft picks. If they feel Quinn is not ready or not good, they will sign DA to a 3-5 year contract, if he wants. If DA decides he does not like the situation (the Browns will NOT, under any circumstances, trade Quinn) he will not sign a contract and will let the market determine his value. I have a feeling they will tender him and let him leave given everything that's been said. If they were really planning on keeping him long term, he would likely already be signed to a contract, or they would at least be refusing to talk about the situation with the media completely. His performance has also trailed off a bit in recent weeks, which will make it easier to let him leave. Either way, I feel they're in a very good position. If they keep DA, they've got a guy they know can run the offense starting and a guy with a lot of potential right on his heels. If they let DA go, they'll get some very high draft picks which they can use to improve the defense. We can also be 99% sure in that situation that Quinn has showed the coaches he's as good or better than Anderson, so it shouldn't be that much of a concern letting him leave.
