View Full Version : Why does Ron Paul want to eliminate the Federal Reserve?
labken1817 08-06-2005, 05:58 PM I had a conversation with a friedn earlier concenring Ron Paul. This is a very good friend who I often discuss politics with but he will never answer any question I ask. When the discussion got to Ron Paul he mentioned Paul being one of those corrupt politicians that give the others a bad name. When I questioned him on this stance (As I thought Ron Paul to be a man of integrity) he told me to check his investments. So I have spent most of the day (avoiding work) researching where most of Ron Pauls ivestments are. Here is what I have come up with. Besides a couple investments in real estate, just a couple rental properties, and a few mutual funds, all of Ron Pauls investments are in Gold, and either exploration or mining companies. It is evident to me that if the Federal Reserve was eliminated and all American currency was backed by Gold, then Ron Paul would stand to make quite a bit of money from his investments. What are your thoughts? Here is a list of the companies Ron Paul has investments in:Agnico Eagle MinesIam Gold CorpKinross GoldAluminaClaude Res IncMag Silver CorpApollo GoldPan American SilverGolden Star ResourcesGreat Basin GoldEldoraldo GoldGolden Cycle GoldBarrick GoldVirginia MinesGoldCorp IncMetalline MiningLexam ExplorationsCoeur A'Alene MinesSilver WheatonPetrol Oil and GasVista GoldNewmont Mining CorpDundee Preceious MetalsI want to be clear, Ron Paul has not hidden any of this, he has spoken several times on investing in gold, I'm just curious why he doesn't seem to have any diversity to his financial portfolio.

Because it isn't federal and has no reserves. It has caused most of our financial problems since 1914.And Ron Paul is the only one willing to risk his life by bucking the elitists and the NWO.He will never be put in office. He's too decent. And only a communist would be concerned with his wealth.Because we are headed for a big depression, not recession. All prudent people are going with gold.http://www.conspiracyplanet.com/channel.cfm?ChannelID=114
Skitt123 08-12-2005, 05:26 PM Of course he invests in gold. That's one of his platforms... to go back to the gold standard. If I didn't have any faith in the government that is, and if I could afford it, I'd be investing in gold as well. I don't think that makes him corrupt... just the opposite. He's practicing what he preaches.
JamieF 08-14-2005, 05:16 PM Listen to his speeches on the federal reserve and you will get your answser. I agree with him that we need sound money, especially when you see what is going on with the dollar.Dr. Paul is not a career politician. In contrast to the other candidates (lawyers), he appeals to me. I liked Fred Thompson until I looked into Paul.To say that he wants to abolish the federal reserve for personal gain is laughable.
Kristina 08-16-2005, 05:05 PM He wants to do away with pretty much every major federal agency including the IRS and put most of the power into the states' hands. This also includes the federal reserve so I guess he thinks he'll be ahead of the curve if he becomes President. He's kind of cooky in a "crazy uncle you don't introduce your friends to" kind of way.
elohimself 08-18-2005, 04:55 PM Ron Paul hasn't shown any corruption by investing in gold. He's practicing what he preaches.cvl is right about the Federal Reserve. It's a private corporation of mostly Jewish bankers who have hijacked the power to regulate the value of money, which is a power that the US constitution gives to Congress alone. John F. Kennedy was probably assassinated because he temporarily stripped the Federal Reserve of that power and gave it back to Congress. (Lyndon B. Johnson issued an executive order rescinding Kennedy's immediately after taking office.) US Representative Louis T. McFadden was another American elected official who was murdered for causing trouble for the Federal Reserve.Challenging the power of the Zionist elite bankers takes REAL GUTS! It's not one of those issues that a president can safely deal with. You know those big guys with the guns who escort the president everywhere? Officially, they work for the Treasury Department. Unofficially, hmm... The Secret Service may be the president's protectors most of the time, but under the right circumstances they could also be his executioners, or else aid & abet others who the bankers might send to kill him.http://jabpage.org/posts/finance.html
Grump 08-20-2005, 04:44 PM Interesting! One could say nearly the same thing about Kucinich, except all his investments are in old comic books and Star Trek merchandise...
Vanessa6132 08-22-2005, 04:34 PM I don't think it's some conspiracy(god, you crazy neo-cons with your conspiracy theories) He just practices what he preaches. He thinks the dollar is going to continue to slide so he put his money into something stable. How would Ron Paul make more money? Going back to the gold standard would stabilize the dollar, it wouldn't cause the price of gold to go up, it would cause the value of the dollar to go up. If gold went up and Ron Paul made money(like you conspiracy driven neo-cons think) then everyone who had their money in dollars would make money. If we were on the gold standard, the rise in gold would cause the rise of the dollar. Everyone who has money in dollars would profit, not just people who invest in gold.
SarahZ 08-24-2005, 04:23 PM The United States of America was founded on the gold standard. We were backed financially by gold. Why should we keep the federal reserve and the irs.....? By that and taxes we are paying the richest men in America to stay the richest and have the most power. Ron Paul wants to rid of those evil men who are "running" our country. Lets go back old school! Gold Standard!
ronpaulsupporter 08-26-2005, 04:13 PM I didn't realize all that! Thanks for the new info!
LettieD 08-28-2005, 04:02 PM My thoughts are that you have just pis*** the Ron Paul cult members on here off. Please do not give your address out mistakenly. They keep talking about all the money that he doesn't accept. Suppose these companies that he has invested in are not planning to help him at all. Yeah, right. And about doing away with the Federal Reserve, is there anything that he does not want to eliminate?Edit: Vanessa-How in the name of God can you think that labken is a neo-con? labken is liberal.
