Currently I have a 1999 corolla CE, but it has a corolla sport cold air intake. The CAI is very long tho and wasn't meant for my CE. It fits fine but now I want to put on an electric supercharger but the intake pipe is too long, so now I can either pay 30$ for a short ram meant for a CE on ebay (comes with a filter I already have), cut my current one (but i'd have to cut it past the c02 sensor, do I need that or not?), put in the stock rubber one (not an option, I dont want it back in), or buy a universal one for 44$ that seperates at 4 places. So I'm thinking about buying a new one for a CE and selling the filter or cutting the one I have now. Do I need the C02 sensor or not? And what gives you better horsepower, short or long?Alright, as far as the supercharger, I know they work. I know people who have put them in an LOVE them, they give you a ton of extra horsepower, so no confusion for me on thatand no, there is not a C02 sensor in the intake, but there is a special blowhole meant for the C02 sensor to go into, in my question I am asking about this because I will need to cut past that hole, and also there is a tube that goes from the intake to somewhere else. What is that, what does it do, and do I need that, because I might have to cut past that too

if you want to pass smog gotta' have the sensor and hummmmmmmm $30 sounds alright . just a little extra air alone will not produce hp more fuel and air is the only way to go natural aspiration and a 50 shot of nitro would probably make you happy. Good gas mpg and extra hp when you want it.

I am lost on this one.A CO2 sensor in the intake?Anyway, I am not so sure that the electric supercharger will help you. I have read some of the reviews at e-bay motors and many seem to feel that it was/is a waste of money. I have also seen this other places. The shorter the intake runner the better your low end. It has to do with resonance and such. I wish I knew more of the science of designing intake runner length and capacity, so that I could better tune mine. Some cars even have resonance chambers built in to help with flat spots caused by the cam selection.Good luck on that electric supercharger, maybe it will help.
