I don't know the answers to your questions, but kudzu is definitely a pain in the @ss.

I know a lady who makes kudzu jellyBut it's pretty nasty.

Here in Georgia it gets run over and the tendrils die when they try to cross the road. It can grow a foot a day or something crazy like that. Other than that I don't know much, sorry.
