I sold everything at the beginning of the year. I wonder if the bad news has already been priced into the stock prices. Or whether we're going to have a serious recesion. Would appreciate any reasoned replies.

It might be worth taking a nibble or two. The future is very uncertain and a recession is almost a sure bet but I do believe a recession has been discounted about 3 or 4 times. We are now discounting a depression.

We may see an upswing in the months ahead because an incumbent has been re-elected, but that shouldn’t matter in the long run. You should invest in America’s best companies for the next 10-15 years, putting your money in mutual funds.

Ah... the main problem of market timing.... when to get back in!But you're adding a twist. Asking strangers that know as much or less than you. Good luck with that.If market timing worked... how come all the mutual funds that have tried it have done worse than the S&P500?
