as per latest news Google is getting in touch with Yahoo for possible help. there is no news about google taking over of Yahoo.some well informed sources feel that some parts of Yahoo is more costlier than $44.6 billion bid from Microsoft. In the case of takes over Microsoft may not do charity - it is going to be a strude business.in this game what google, AOL,IBM, MAC, Wall Mart and other affected (directly or indirectly) are going to do is to be seen. How Monopoly Restrictive regulations is going to look at this game is yet to be seen.finally the deal is going to end up with frustration.

Keep up GOOG HAS more or less made an offer, although not a buy out.GOOG buying YHOO would probably have all manner of monopoly problems. There is no love lost between GOOG and MSFT. Below is an part of the story from the new. Get the full story here http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/02/04/how-google-could-keep-yahoo-from-microsoft/?ref=technologyIn an unusually aggressive effort to prevent Microsoft from moving forward with its $44.6 billion hostile bid for Yahoo, Google emerged over the weekend with plans to play the role of spoiler.Publicly, Google came out against the deal, contending in a statement that the pairing, proposed by Microsoft on Friday in the form of a hostile offer, would pose threats to competition that need to be examined by policy makers around the world.Privately, Google, seeing the potential deal as a direct attack, went much further. Its chief executive, Eric E. Schmidt, placed a call to Yahoo’s chief, Jerry Yang, offering the company’s help in fending off Microsoft, possibly in the form of a partnership between the companies, people briefed on the call said.

They could, and are in Talks with yhoo, but this is just bc they are probably scared and upset that yhoo turned them down before too...they wont be able to acquire them because of monopoly reasons, the dept of justice of the US and EU wouldnt let it happen. Regardless both companies will continue to be profitable, but I think Goog needs to look into TWX as an excellent buy option for them...otherwise, goog's market value is high and those invested will jump ship out of emotion if micro-hoo goes through. sending goog down, down, down. but once that hits rock bottom, even i would buy.

Google cannot afford to buy Yahoo! What bank is going to lend money to Google? (And fight against the second richest man in the World)Yahoo! is not going to take a 100% in shares deal when Microsoft is currently offering 50% in shares and 50% in cash.Google would be forced to join forces with Nintendo and Sony just to survive if the deal is accepted by Yahoo!I think Microsoft should bid right now for Time Warner just to get 95% of America Online.Google already owns 5% of America Online and they paid $1 billion for it.Google cannot afford to pay $95 billion for America Online.Microsoft is not used to the idea of having a debt of billions but now it's the right time to change the old ways and fight Google to the death. (Or at least for 50% of the Internet search market)Microsoft could invite their friends at Comcast to buy the entire television business. (After all, they did try to buy the Walt Disney Company back in 2004) and also they could invite their friends at CBS and offer them CW and Marvel and offer them DC Comics.
