I would look for one with as little plastic as possible. Kate1519 10-24-2004, 05:44 PM It is a really neat cage for all the tubes and hidies and stuff. I have never had a hamster cage with the tubes, but a lot of people have and really enjoy them. I would be worried that it would be hard to clean, but if you are dedicated and give it a good rinse out when you clean his cage, it shouldn't be a problem.http://homepage.mac.com/cherrypop/Blog/files/4f3a175402ff33985618822230a2a16a-3.htmlThis guy wrote a review and hes got a lot of the parts to the Ovo series and says he will write more when he acquires more parts.Anyways, good luck! girlnextdoor 10-29-2004, 07:24 AM no they r way too small and quite expensive compared to the others. i would not get this get a crittertrail cage instead they are colorful and have lots of room .also you can add tubes and things to them just like the ovo . but it can be a different brand like habbitrail or SAM. good luck! fungrly10 11-02-2004, 09:05 PM no no no no no no noooo!! they have plastics! PLASTICS ARE BAAADD!!! stick with a wire cage, or best of all, a tank with 100 toys a lots of bedding:]SAY NO TO PLASTICS!!makes people & pets CHOKE.NO TUBES. liveyourlife 11-07-2004, 10:46 AM In my opinion, they're expensive pieces of garbage. Here's why:1. They're plastic. Plastic can be chewed. A hamster could chew it's way out of the cage.2. There isn't good ventilation.3. The plastic can soak in urine and make it smell.4. They're an absolute pain to clean.5. Hamsters can outgrow the tubes.6. It's very hard to catch a hamster if it decides to go in one of the tubes. You're better off just sticking with a wire cage. Here's an example:http://www.petco.com/product/8295/Coast-Cages-Del-Mar-Hamster-or-Rat-Cages.aspx(Note* That wheel is dangerous, and must be replaced with a safe one like hard, plastic wheel (Silent Spinners), or mesh wheels (Super Pet Run-A-Round) furreverfriends94 11-12-2004, 12:27 AM The S.A.M. cages are the best. They are great for dwarf and syrian hamsters. swimmer 11-16-2004, 02:08 PM No, the plastic parts break and get chewed up. It is also hard to clean and to small for an active animal. I would recommend you get the biggest cage you can find with mostly metal bars instead of plastic. Be sure the bars are close enough together that your pet can't get out. You can order bigger cages online. DwarfHammieMom 11-21-2004, 03:48 AM It has ventilation holes all over the lid. It is a piece of cake to clean. It takes me 30 minutes tops. It's a good size for a dwarf but too small for the Syrians. This habitat is rounded. There are no edges for them to chew on. If you buy them chew things they won't need to anyway. She's trying now by the water bottle and she's just scratching it.My russian dwarf loves this cage. It's 24.99. |
