It's not our natural resources, since they are overwhelmingly pro-business and would happily cut down every last tree on earth if it would bump the Dow Jones industrial average 0.2 of a point. It's not our environment, since they are against raising fuel economy standards, emisisions, and are in denial about global warming. It's not the lives of our soldiers or the future of our country since they have us invested in an endless war against every muslim on the planet.I can't think of anything they want to conserve other then their own money at the expense of college loan programs, elementary schools and heath care for the poor and elderly. Maybe "conservative" is a misnomer?

How about your Constitutional rights and freedoms? How about your way of life? You and your family's safety? Your paycheck? What are you interested in conserving?

I am interested in "conserving" the US Constitution, It's Separation of Powers, It's State's Rights, and the safeguards for individual rights. And I am against judicial activism continually eroding the intent of the framers.

They are interested in preserving moral values. The problem is that are interested in forcing their own values down the throats of others who want nothing to do with them. They hold strong opinions on things that they do not understand, and are the reason that this country is falling behind in science.

I see, so conservatives like dirty water and dirty air?The term conservative as defining political/economic philosophy has nothing to do with the term conservation. Many conservatives have been great environmentalist in history, such as Teddy Roosevelt and and John D. Rockefeller. Just these two contributed their fortunes to preserving our environment.Get over your elitist liberal politics and learn something.

Simply put, classic conservatives do not want change without considering all the ramifications and consequences. And classic liberals are not afraid of change. You need to study history, not just the past ten years. It has nothing to do with the environment (Check out the new fuel standards!), soldiers (yeah, we weren't supposed to get involved after 9/11?), and given liberal's solution to everything is throw tax money at it, conservatives tend to be very stingy with tax money (until this guy came along).
