Hillary's plan to promote energy independence, address global warming, and transform our economy includes: * A new cap-and-trade program that auctions 100 percent of permits alongside investments to move us on the path towards energy independence; * An aggressive comprehensive energy efficiency agenda to reduce electricity consumption 20 percent from projected levels by 2020 by changing the way utilities do business, catalyzing a green building industry, enacting strict appliance efficiency standards, and phasing out incandescent light bulbs; * A $50 billion Strategic Energy Fund, paid for in part by oil companies, to fund investments in alternative energy. The SEF will finance one-third of the $150 billon ten-year investment in a new energy future contained in this plan; * Doubling of federal investment in basic energy research, including funding for an ARPA-E, a new research agency modeled on the successful Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency

Isn't that "isolationism"?Actually, its not the governments job to do this. It is the job of the billion dollar corporations. It is UNCONSTITUTIONAL to get the government involved in things like this. The government is hired by us to protect our rights. Period. As it is, every working American already cant pay their fair cut of the yearly federal budget of $21,000.00

you want to reduce oil dependency? get out of your cars and walk more, if you have to drive, carpool. I see so many people drive 2 blocks to get to somewhere, while I walk 8 blocks to get to that same place. granted I don't even have a car, but I would still walk.

If we care about the troops and the children, we must bill in all available oil fields. We should look at drilling off shore and in all parts of Alaska.Any other action will simply enrich those cronies who have invested in "alternative" (expensive) fuels.

Well it ain't going to happen under George the (oil man) Bush, or the Republicans. Too many oil men there getting filthy stinking rich at the high oils costs . Why do you think this crises is going on so dam long and despite everyone saying Iran has no nuke program he wants to take it there too. Its very simple if you people want to wake up and smell the dam coffee.. Bush is an oil man, His family is in oil.. They're getting rich.. Cheney still has allot to do with haliburton, haliburton is tendering all the contracts in Iraq,, He is getting filthy stinking rich. Are you people that stupid that you cant figure this stuff out ? . But watch and mark my words, You will elect another Republican to continue this shit, Cause deep down inside you all love it . America is all about guns, and war, and power, and money.. . No other reason, no other excuses.. Its about money and power. Power corrupts,, absolute power corrupts absolutely the people running the show in the us are as crooked as a dogs hind leg. Not only that, they are morally void and the American people that think thease clowns are in it for moral purposes,, are just gullible and stupid
