Sorry for the long question but please read.If you are the age of 18 doesn't it piss you off that we can't vote?I'm 14 and I wish I could vote for president. If I could vote I would vote for Barack Obama. I think he's really smart and has a lot going for him. He's so honest and knows what he's doing and also when he makes a speech, he really talks from his heart. If he wins and becomes president I would definetly see a brighter future for this country. And another thing that sucks is that there are a lot of racist people in this country that base their votes on that and not whats really important. So give me your opinion...shouldn't we be able to vote?

I'm 15 and I strongly wish I could vote, however I don't think many kids our age our ready for that, and because of this, will pick who they will for dumb reasons or because of their parents infulence. And honestly how many of us would vote? I know I would but I mean honestly, our generation in uninterested.I support your interest in politics it's good to meet another.

Why is he smart? What does he have going for him? And how do you see a brighter future for this country with him as President when he won't pledge his allegiance to this country? If you can answer those questions with actual facts, then sure, you should be able to vote.

Although you are young to decide, you are probably the ones going to be the canon fodder for any future war... as such it is disturbing that you do not have any say...Moreover, you are the ones going to be left with the bills (debt, environmental degradation, lowered quality of the society...). You are the ones going to use the education system the most and there again you have no say in it.

You can work to help get him elected. He will need people to make phone calls and encourage people to vote for him. I think that you sound very mature but most people your age are too immature. What bothers me is that young voters who ARE eligible do not vote. I don't understand that. Pehaps you can get those folks to register and vote. You can make a difference even if you can't vote.

Under age or so called "minors" are the most discriminated against people alive. Because younger people generally do not have an abundance of money and cannot vote the law makers believe they must pass laws that "protect" younger people. Many young people of say the age 12 today have enough interest to vote intelligently. Many older adults have no idea how to vote or the reasons why they vote as they do.I believe the age to vote could be lowered to age 12 or 14. I also believe the age of consent should be left up to the individual according to what they want to do. I believe the government should be kept out of the private lives of all people as long as it is consensual and does not harm another.Obama is an intelligent person I must agree with you on that, how ever you should give a look also at Ron Paul. I have included his news letters and videos here for him. You sound like someone whom will research and make good decisions.http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul-arch.htmlGood luck in your pursuits!

No, you shouldnt. If you were older you would know that Obama wont salute our flag, and is unworthy of being our leader. Good try, kid.

Given the fact that the collective IQ of the majority of kids at my high school is approximately -23, I'd say that the voting age restricton is a good idea. Sorry :)

I'm 16 and I stand by the government's law that you must be 18 to vote. I can still have political opinions and make a difference without voting. The reason you have to be 18 is because a lot of people age 14, or whatever, are not informed enough about politics to make a sensible decisions, even if you may be. Your opinions will become more informed by the time you turn 18, although you feel strongly about things now. I'm glad that kids have opinions about events and want to vote in our world today. So many people take advantage of what so many fought for by not voting. VOTE AMERICA! You can always vote in 2012!

No I don't think you should be able to vote. For one reason, it has been proven that the brain is not done growing fully until the age of 21 at least. At fourteen you do not fully understand the issues and you do not fully realize and reason through the ideas. Not dissing you, I'm only 17 too. But it is true and that's my opinion.
