looking for some very low cal foods, like under 40 calories. i know the obvious fruit and veg but i'm going shopping later and need to stock up on some safe foods as my house is full of fattening things like peanut butter. i know of those 10 calorie jelly pots, and a 10 calorie soup, 30 calorie hot chocolate, otherwise i'm clueless, any ideas would be appriciated

if you eat steamed food it ususally has less calories, eg chicken, fish.

the key component i find is rice cakes and yoplait "source" yogurt. One rice cake does have about 30 calories, but they are so good (especially the butter popcorn flavor). About a cup of the vanilla source yogurt has 40 calories and it is great as well! If you are looking for more substance I just found this great low cal bread. Its about 50 calories per piece, but when paired with the "I can't believe its not butter" margarine its a great 50-100 calorie snack. Basically if you want to go that low cal its soups and fruits and veggies quite honestly. I aimed for under 600 calories a day and found that I could have so much variety with that, including 2 of the subway turkey subs a day! You should look into those @ 270 calories per 6 inch sub. So good!Good luck!

you cant just eat jelly 10 calorie soup cups and hot coco...thats insane you might lose weight ...but what will you be doing to your health....you have to eat the obvious stuff like fruits and vegs...brown rice..chicken..fish...tuna...eggs..bread..salad..y ou might not be able to eat in in large amounts like you would low calorie stuff...but your going to be alot more healthy and have more energy...one thing that i really like is...Zucchini sliced into long thin strips...with thinly sliced tomato on top ..salt pepper..and olive oil..between each layer then Parmesan cheese on top...its really good it tastes like a healthy pizza...LOL...and tomato and zucchini have basically no calories...the only calories is really in the oil and cheese...but cheese is still good for you so is the oil...anyways good luck

I'm worried about you, you posted a question about exercise(which you seemed to do a lot of anyway!) and now you're asking about really low calorie foods...you shouldn't be dieting and exercising excessively its not good for you and is the beginning of an eating disorder.

maddyoh WHAT! This girl sound to me like she is bordering on an eating disorder and you say things like" i aim for 600 calories" you need 1000 just to tick over. I suggest you think more carefully about what you write.

Please get some help. You sound like you really need to talk to someone. You post so many questions on this forum and you cannot continue to treat your body like this. You are going to do some permanent damage which could have terrible consequences for you future health. If you want to chat confidentially and don't feel you can talk to your friends or family, email me. I'm happy to listen and chat when I am online. I really feel for you. I'm wondering if the problems go deeper than your appearance.
