I have a Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3 and was reading some reviews on Newegg about it and they say the North Bridge gets really hot. So, before I even build my system, I wanna make sure this doesn't overheat. Some people said to remove the heatsink(i did) and replace the Arctic Silver and put the stock heatsink back on. I was thinking, should I just get a new heatsink(ZM-NBF 47)? But, I was reading that aftermarket heatsinks have problems with Gigabyte boards. Or, if this isn't a problem, should I forget it and put my stock heatsink back on with no additional thermal paste? This is my first PC build so I'm not sure. When I was removing the existing thermal paste from the heatsink the little felt square shaped thing came off. Is this a problem?

One of the reviews is mine!LOL It really gets too hot.Get any heatsink with a fan on it,newegg has many chipset cooling heatsinks/fans and they are cheap.

I would do as advised with adding a heatsink/fan combo, and use Artic Silver. Use care with the Artic Silver! When the Northbridge get's hot, the Artic Silver's gonna ooze a little. Apply too much of this thermal paste, and it will ooze over the edge. Result? Could get on some exposed circuits, and fry the mobo! Artic Silver does indeed contain silver, which is an excellent conductor! Not trying to scare you, just caution you. One more thing, if Gigabyte makes crap, what do you call this? http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2730http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/view.php?cid=6&id=2401
